About us

My name is Claire and I live in Oxfordshire with my husband and our adorable Coton de Tulear

who form a huge part of our family.
 

Our kennel name ‘Cindaires’ is simply a combination of two names, Cindy who is our foundation bitch and my own name Claire.  Cindy was also the name of my first pet cat when I was just 3 years old, she lived to the grand age of 21 and was a fond part of my childhood.

In 2014 we began the search for a pet dog.  Growing up I had a menagerie of animals including dogs, cats, horses, chickens and rabbits to name a few. We chose the Coton de Tulear after discovering the breed through the Kennel Club website.  I was looking for a small pedigree dog which was hypoallergenic and would fit into our family lifestyle. It’s fair to say we haven’t looked back and are now the proud owners of seven of these wonderful dogs.  Buddy was our first Coton and very quickly we realised how sociable the breed was so along came Sparky.  Before owning dogs I didn’t use social media, however Facebook has connected me with owners, breeders and enthusiasts of this unique breed all over the world. Just like children have hobbies, I believe it’s important for dogs to have an interest too which is why Buddy and I have enjoyed agility classes.  A friend introduced me to showing and I soon caught the bug. I have enjoyed exhibiting this wonderful breed all over the U.K. including Crufts.  First and foremost our dogs are cherished pets who live a quality and fulfilled life.  Exhibiting them at shows is not only fun and rewarding for both me and the dogs, it also proves that my dogs meet the Kennel Club breed standard and are therefore worthy of breeding.   All our dogs live in the house with us and most sleep on our bed, they are thoroughly spoiled. We are lucky enough to have a holiday home at the coast so spend quality time together with our dogs at the beach.  In March 2024 after 10 years of owning and exhibiting this delightful breed we had our first litter.  We kept a beautiful girl named Darcy who has recently entered the showring.
